Wednesday July 4th 2018
Dear Members of Rock Creek Country Club
We want to give a friendly reminder that it is officially summer, which means less rainfall and warmer temperatures. While we understand celebrating the 4th of July with your usual display of fireworks, we ask that all those who live on or near the course be extremely cautious of their use.
We want to remind everyone that Rock Creek Country Club is private property. Please do not use the open space as an area to shoot off your fireworks. If you are seen on the course after hours, the right is reserved to call the police and report the activity. Not only is it a danger to the dry grounds, but to those who live around the course, as well as the public use park that runs right next to the course. The course is open until 7:30pm on July 4th. Please be aware of the safety and enjoyment of those around you as they celebrate the holiday if they choose at the golf course.
There will be a person on the grounds at night on July 4th and July 5th, please be aware that if he sees any activity he reserves the right to call the police or the fire department on grounds of trespassing or fire security.
As stated from The Office of State Fire Marshall We encourage everyone to use the four B’s of safe fireworks use:
- · Be Prepared before lighting fireworks: keep water available by using a garden hose or bucket.
- · Be Safe when lighting fireworks: keep children and pets away from fireworks.
- · Be Responsible after lighting fireworks: never relight a dud. Wait 15 to 20 minutes then soak it in a bucket of water before disposal.
- · Be Aware: use only legal fireworks and use them only in legal places.
We want to wish everyone a safe, fun, and happy holiday celebrating Fourth of July. Thank you for your understanding regarding the use of fireworks and the course.
